Adam Anderson, MPH, MURP
Epidemiology & Data Science Division Director

Adam’s professional and academic work began in landscape architecture and land-use planning, focusing on developing and building our cities. This evolved into public health, where he continues to examine these issues in the context of how communities, cultures, and the physical environment influence population-level health. He specializes in understanding and collecting health, demographic, and community data—integrating them in a way that recognizes the complexity in the distribution and explanation of health outcomes and the spread of diseases. This involves analyzing these relationships through GIS, statistical modeling, community engagement, and creating data dissemination products through thoughtful graphic design and web-based data applications. Through these processes, Adam is committed to improving our communities, resources, and opportunities for health.
He is also an adjunct faculty member at the Colorado School of Public Health, University of Colorado, where he teaches GIS and spatial analysis for health research. In addition to his BSLA from UK, he also received a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Public Health.
